A Tribute to Mother

Mother

My Mother was wise, compassionate, caring and loved her children with passion. She encouraged us to be whatever we wanted to be. She was proud of her children and told them so. Mother was smart…she kept us busy. There were minor rebellions, but she quickly stopped them. There comes a day that you start acting like your Mother with your children. HELLO! Did you ever think that you would be quoting your Mother? That is exactly what happens. I was quoting my Mother, which was something I said I would never do, and remember My mother saying, “never say never because it will come back to haunt you” (there I go again).

She was kind and thoughtful. She taught her children to respect others, to say kind words and smile. Being rude was not acceptable and she felt it was an insult. She always said “if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all”. She was a lover of roses and lilacs. We still remember her vases full of roses and sprigs of lilac and it conjures up spring and new beginnings and life

She was full of love, she always had hugs and kisses for us. Mother passed away in 1985 at the age of 67 years…we miss her presence every day. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren honor her on her birthday each year with a celebration of her life. Shirley
